In the 4th round of the AdmiralBet ABA league, the black and whites defeated Cibona 61:79 (11:22, 26:19, 13:16, 11:22) on the away ground.

The Black and Whites continued their winning streak at the start of the AdmiralBet ABA League, as they recorded their third away victory in Croatia this season. This time, Partizan NIS defeated Cibona in the regional classic 61:79, so with the maximum performance after four matches, it takes the leading position on the table. Zeljko Obradovic's team made a great series of 18: 0 in the first quarter, so they had a double-digit advantage after the first period - 11:22. At the end of the first half, the host managed to reduce the difference to minus four with ten tied points, so the Steamroller went to a fifteen-minute break with an advantage of 37:41.

 

The third quarter brought a balanced fight, where Partizan NIS still played better, and made a good overture for the last quarter, in which it definitely broke the resistance of the rival. In the last section, the black and whites received only 11 points and thus brought the match to an end against Cibona without any major problems, thus recording the fifth consecutive triumph in Zagreb against Cibona in the regional league.

 

At the press conference held after the game, the coach of the black and whites, Zeljko Obradovic, said:

 

"As you know, we had two teams that were undefeated so far. We had a very nice experience to play with Cibona at the tournament in Opatija. We tried to analyze that game, but also all the others that Cibona has played so far. We knew that this was a team that played at the highest possible level from the first to the last minute and that they played aggressive. They managed to come back into the match after minus 14 and I really congratulate them on that and on everything they have done so far in the championship so far. Young team with a coach who does a great job. As far as we are concerned we have moments when we play very well and very smart, but we also have moments when we make very bad decisions. Every time something like this happens it is of course the merit of both the opposing team and their aggression, but what we will have to insist on is just that. To make the right decisions, but basketball is such game that sometimes you score points, sometimes you miss. The ball should be in the hands of those we expect to be the most important on the field at that moment. A victory that primarily gives self-confidence because the Eurocup starts next week. We are playing the first game in Germany and I hope that we will look better from game to game and that the players who do not have much time at the moment will understand that they have to help the team, because what is very important begins, and those are two games in during the week, so every player must know that he will be very important and important for the team, "said Obradović.
