Partizan NIS are returning from Ljubljana with a victory! The last game of 2018 brought important points for the black and whites. The game in Stožice Hall was tough and close almost until the end.Home team came to their first, and, as it later turned out, their only advantage, at the very beginning of the game, when the score was 10:4. Soon after, the black and whites came to a tie, and to a minimal advantage before halftime. Alex Renfroe, who entered the game in the sixth minute, had his debut in the black and white jersey.
Throughout the second half, the black and whites had a minimal advantage, but the home team managed to keep close until the last minute, when the black and whites came to an unattainable +6, for the final 66:72.
After the game, the black and whites traditionally celebrated with their fans, who came to Ljubljana in large numbers.
At the press conference after the game, Partisan NIS' coach, Andrea Trinchieri, said:
"The game was just like I expected it to be — tough. Neither team managed to tip the scales. For us, this is an important victory, after six years of losing here. We played at times well in defense, and at times well in offense. We weren't experienced enough to connect good play in defense and offense, but in the end we deserved to win, because we did better things in key moments", Trinchieri pointed out.
The black and whites are already playing another game on January 2. In the first round of the 7DAYS EuroCup Top 16 phase, the black and whites are going to Vilnius, where they will play against Rytas.
