Black and whites beat Buducnost Podgorica 85:71

Partizan opened up the game with impeccable three point shooting thus hinting the continuance of good play. At the end of 1st quarter they had a double digit lead 24:11. From that moment on, the visitors, by being aggressive at the defensive end and productive at offense, came back completely, and by hitting the last second three at the end of 2nd quarter, went into the half-time break up by 1. The 3rd quarter brought relative equality. Trading leads lasted up to 35th minute when Partizan reinstated duoble digit lead by playing aggressive both at defense and offense. Final score 85:71, the reigning NLB league champion notched up his 6th consecutive win as well as claiming the top spot at the leaderboard. „There was a lot of fatigue leftover from our last Euroleague game and we really felt it. Buducnost plays very well, everybody gives 100%, they fight, they’re physical, they play tough. They’re smart on offence if they can’t have a fast break. If one of their guards has height advantage over the man who’s guarding him, he’ll back him down, which they exploited against us. We did not have many players up to the task tonight, on one hand due to the style of play, quality and grit that Buducnost excels at, on the other hand we had little rest between the two games. The pressure was definitly greater on us, Buducnost is not a team that one can take lightly any more, on any court, they’re constantly focused, physical, constantly on attack, they run a lot. They’re very organized on offence if they can’t get a fast break. The emotional fatigue that we’ve felt after the game against Real, no matter how much we’ve tried to tone it down, was apparent in tomorrow’s practice. The timing for this game was most inconvenient, between the two Euroleague games. They’ve showed a lot of grit and I congratulate them, I also think that the final score is not objective. We came out of the locker room and played good, we were controlling the game, than we allowed them to make a 14:1 run, in order for us to wrap up the game by making a 15:0 run“ said coach Duško Vujoševic after the game.
