Partizan conquers Vršac
In „the“ game of the 3rd round of the regional NLB league, Partizan’s players as visitors were able to beat Hemofarm in Vršac 74:73. The home team opened the game better and built up a substantial lead. Mid 2nd quarter Hemofarm reached their biggest lead 36:18. After that our team started to catch breath and to cut in into the Hemofarm’s lead. The pivotal part of the game was in the 3rd quarter, thanks to excellent defense, Partizan allowed only 2 points during an 8 minute stretch. In the dying moments of the game the “pharmacists” made a game of it by making a few back to back threes, still 2 precious points go to Belgrade. “Hemofarm is an excellent team, they started with two wins, against Cibona and Bosna in Sarajevo. We have not yet completed our team and formed our plays. We’re still looking for our game. Hemofarm led big in the early stages but we were able to catch up. We controlled the game and the score till the very end, and then instead of bringing the game to an end, we allowed a couple of easy looks and they closed in on us. It’s awfully hard to win in this place and it’s a good thing we were able to do it with this roster. There won’t be many teams going home with points in the bag from Vršac”, said Partizan coach Duško Vujoševic. Hemofarm Štada: Savovic, Joksimovic 6, Božovic 10, Markovic 17, Pavkovic 11, Krstovic 1, Macvan 9, Petrovic, Borisov 3, Despotovic, Marjanovic 8, Vukosavljevic 83 Partizan: Tepic 13, Riznic, Miloševic, Rašic 6, Velickovic 20, Lasme 13, Aleksic 3, Vitkovac 7, Božic, Rakocevic 8, Vesely, Vraneš 4.
