Partizan NIS, three-time consecutive winner of Radivoj Korac Kup, failed to qualify for the finals because they were defeated by Crvena zvezda MTS with 78:79 in an uncertain finale. The Black and whites reached a seven-point advantage during the first quarter, to end the opening ten minutes of the game with an advantage of 27:22. In the end of the first half, Steamroller gained a double-digit advantage, but they went to a fifteen-minute break with the result of 46:40.
In the continuation of the match, the black and whites maintained the result plus, they had an advantage of 11 points, until the last few minutes of the match, when an uncertain end was entered. The teams took turns in the lead, and Partizan NIS did not manage to score in the last attack, so in the end one point decided - 78:79.
At the press conference held after the game, the coach of the black and whites, Sasa Filipovski, stated:
"I'm sorry primarily for the players who played well. We carried out the agreement according to plan, but we just didn't manage to end the game with a victory. The defeat hurts, but life has to go on. We'll cry a little for a few days and then we have to turn around, work and to use the break for the progress of the team, which will have two members of the national team, and the rest of us will work, " said Filipovski.
The basketball player of Partizan NIS, Rashawn Thomas, believes that the mistakes in the end of the match decided the winner.
"It was a difficult match, we fought, but we made a few mistakes in the end of the match, which cost us defeat. However, we have to forget this and move on," said Thomas.
