The big struggle brought a great triumph against Unix! In the "Ranko Žeravica" Sports Hall, Steamroller defeated the Russian team with 89:86 in the eighth round of the 7Days Eurocup. During the first quarter, the guests were mostly in the lead, so after ten minutes of basketball, they had a lead of 20:26. William Mosley returned to the Partizan NIS team and after entering the game in the first quarter, showed with an effective block that his teammates can count on him. During the second section, the teams took turns in the lead, so that Partizan NIS would go to a fifteen-minute break with a minimal advantage, 40:39.
In the third quarter, the black and whites managed to reach an eight-point advantage, but the guests managed to reverse the result with nine consecutive points. In those moments, a real revolver showdown between the two teams was seen, which scored three points in the series. Led by the great Marcus Paige who scored as many as 8 three-pointers tonight, the players of Partizan NIS were more successful at the end of the match, recording such an important victory.
At a post-match press conference, black and white coach Saso Filipovski said:
"We struggled defensively, we received too many points in the first quarter and that is not the way we should open the game. In the attack, we shared the ball and played smart, but we made too many mistakes defensively and allowed them a lot of points. Of course, we managed to come back, we included players from the bench in the game, they helped us a lot today. We received too many threes because they are a great team with Kenan and Smith who are shooters and creators, but their other teammates were also involved. On the other hand, we shot pretty well and shared the ball, so I'm happy for the guys, they train hard in training and all the credit goes to them, "said Filipovski.
There will not be much rest for the black and whites, as they will have a new game on the home floor in two days within the 7Days Eurocup, when the opponent will be the Spanish Joventut.
