It's going to be win or go home now

In the second ABA League semi-finals game, Partizan NIS defeated Crvena zvezda MTS at home, with the score 70:67 (13:9, 21:18, 14:22, 22:18).

The black and whites carved out a chance to fight in the third game of the ABA League semi-finals for a place in the finals! In the packed Aleksandar Nikolić Hall, Partizan NIS' player defeated Crvena Zvezda MTS, with the score 70:67. The game was tight from the beginning, the black and whites gained an advantage with Gagić's points, but the guests responded and took the lead - 2:5, and that was the result after no less than 5 minutes of the game.

Despite an injury he sustained during the first game, the black and whites' captain, Novica Veličković, was in the starting five tonight, which, alongside the support from the stands, gave another dose of energy to the black and whites. The game was tight until the end of the first quarter, which Zagorac ended with a 3-pointer in the last second, for 13:9.

Until the end of the second quarter, the black and whites increased their advantage to +7, with a shot from Landale.

In the third quarter, Crvena zvezda MTS turned the score around, but the black and whites managed to respond, and come to a one-point deficit.

The beginning of the fourth quarter suggested another dramatic ending, but the outcome could have been guessed after a very important 3-pointer form Paige.

Until the end of the game, the guests managed to come to -1 one more time, but once again, Paige, this time from the free-throw line, set the final 70:67.

At the press conference after the game, Partizan NIS' coach, Andrea Trinchieri, said:

"When you play a game every 7 days in the playoffs, every game feels like a different league. The first one was like on a PlayStation, and this one was bloody. It was very hard to score points from the paint. We worked out a few details well, but we guarded their shooters well. We could have won the game earlier, but that's just who we are, we can't do everything easily, we have to mess something up. When you have heart, those things are forgiven. It is a bit hard for me, but I have to, because they were tough, they played like men, they fought until the end. We know how much quality they have, but we are approaching all year, step by step. With how hard my team worked, they deserved to win. They remain front runners because they are better. It was hard for us, because they are better, more experienced, smart, they know how to play these games. The series is over, one more game, I think that we are where we wanted to be", Trinchieri pointed out.

The next game is scheduled for next Saturday, April 6, and Crvena zvezda MTS will host.
