Trinchieri before the derby: "We will give everything, even what we don't have"

In the 20th round of the ABA League, the black and whites are playing against Crvena zvezda MTS, which is the home team. The game in Aleksandar Nikolić Hall is scheduled for Sunday, March 3, at 6 PM.

Another derby is on Sunday! After a two-week break because of the FIBA window, Partizan NIS and Crvena zvezda MTS will meet again, this time in the 20th round of the ABA League. The game is on Sunday, March 3, at 6 PM, and the home team is Crvena zvezda MTS.

Before the Sunday's game, Partizan NIS' coach, Andrea Trinchieri, said:

"Let's go a little further than Sunday, let's go far. I would really like if we had two teams from Belgrade playing the ABA League finals. That means that the EuroLeague is back in the city. I would really like that, but, there is a 'but'. Me, players, fans, we all want Partizan back in the EuroLeague, and that is really...I wake up at night thinking 'Let's go to the EuroLeague'. But, sometimes, that's very hard to achieve. We have a big, big rival, the best team in the ABA League by far. Sale Djordjević called three players from Zvezda and only one from Partizan. And besides that, they brought K.C. Rivers during the break. They are absolute front-runners, but that's what you live for, that's what you eat for, that's what you breathe for. It will be extremely hard, they are a great team, but why do I say two Serbian teams in the ABA League finals? Because this rivalry is just...this only exists in two or three places in the world. In Milan, where I'm from, we have rivalry in football, and here: football, basketball, handball, water polo, tennis - everything! And then, that is something special", Trinchieri pointed out, and added: "We will give everything, even what we don't have. The only thing that I can't predict is the result", said the black and whites' coach.

Partizan NIS' vice-captain, Vanja Marinković said before the Sunday's game:

"A lot of time has passed since the Radivoj Korać Cup finals, 15-16 days... They will definitely try to improve the impression they made in the final. I think that we are ready, that we have a good stage behind us. I believe that they also well-prepared, so it will be interesting, especially because we're playing in front of their fans. I expect a better Zvezda for sure. They will try to prove that they didn't show their true colors in the Cup finals, and we will continue playing just like in Niš", said Marinković, and then added:"Our main goal is what is this weekend, the derby, and the ABA League", Partizan NIS' guard pointed out.
