Korać trophy stays black and white!

In the final of the Radivoj Korać Cup, the players of Partizan NIS beat Crvena zvezda MTS in a dramatic finish, with the score 76:74 (19:18, 18:15, 18:24, 21:17).

The Korać trophy stays on the same address! Partizan NIS won the Radivoj Korać Cup for the second time in a row, their 15th trophy National Cup trophy, and 46th trophy in the club's history. In the finals, the black and whites beat Crvena zvezda MTS with the score 76:74, in a game with a very exciting finish and the deciding points of Jock Landale from the free trow line at 0.2 seconds until the end of the game.

Before that, at 1.2 seconds until the end, Dobrić brought a tie for Zvezda, but the good action after the out, a timely pass from Bandja Sy, and  Jock Landale's good execution after a foul were deciding.

During the game, Partizan NIS was in the lead for the most part, but in the fourth quarter, they had to catch up with the opponent's advantage, and ultimately they managed to do that and overtake the opponent with enormous effort from every player on the court. In the end, after a real drama, the black and whites returned the Korać trophy to Humska 1!

At the press conference after the game, Partizan NIS' coach, Andrea Trinchieri, gentlemanly congratulated the opponent for a great fight and good play.

"I would like to sincerely congratulate Crvena zvezda on a tough and fair game. It was a hard final, a lot of turnarounds, we played with guts, we scored hard points. I was taught to respect my opponent. This is sport and I want to congratulate them for the way they played and fought. The finals are always the same when it's neck and neck, we won the game on one possession. We could have won, Zvezda could have won. We had fantastic execution in the last 1.1 seconds. That was a really good pass, I watched the video, it was a foul. I know that it's not easy to lose a game like this. We could have won earlier, we lacked boxing out, we should have finished earlier. We made a turnaround in the final 3 minutes of the game, with a few big moves and defenses", Trinchieri pointed out.

A break is coming up because of the FIBA window, and the black and whites are playing their next game against Crvena zvezda MTS, on March 3 in the ABA League.
