Trinchieri before Rytas:"We have a duty to face the opponent like men"

In the fifth round of the EuroCup Top 16 phase, on Wednesday, January 30, the black and whites welcome Rytas Vilnius. The game starts at 8 PM, and the tickets are sold out.

The 7DAYS EuroCup Top 16 phase is coming to an end. In the fifth round, on Wednesday, January 30, at 8 PM, the black and whites are playing at home against the Lithuanian Rytas. The tickets sold out today, and before tomorrow's game, the black and whites' coach, Andrea Trinchieri, said:

"I see that a part of the basketball public has this idea that Partizan has to beat Rytas tomorrow, as if they weren't the second best team from the only European country that, besides Serbia, can call itself a basketball country. It's not that this creates extra pressure for the players, because, just because of the fact that they play for Partizan, these guys are used to having to deal with the pressure of having to give their best and make progress in every practice, let alone a game. Their only responsibility is to do their best on the court, to face the opponent like men. Of course, we all want to win, to get a chance to play for the quarter-finals, but if we don't succeed, it won't be the end of the world. I know that some of those who don't have Partizan in their hearts will say that this is just creating an alibi, but we don't care about who says what, we care about reaching a goal that we set for ourselves. For us, the game against Rytas is just one in a series of very important games on the road to seeing Partizan in the European elite again one day. Equally important as the previous ones against Monaco, and Mega, as well as the upcoming ones against Alba, Cibona, Budućnost, Zvezda...In order to achieve our goal, the support we have from the stands this entire time is extremely important. I am convinced that together with the fans we can achieve everything we all want", Trinchieri pointed out.

Regarding tomorrow's game, Partizan NIS' point guard, Aleksej Nikolić, said:

"We have a tough game ahead of us, that is important for us, as much as it is for them. They are coming without Sutton, but when a player like that is missing, it can turn the entire energy of the team around, and it can even cause the team to play better. Kramer is back, another experienced player, but I think that we will prepare well tonight and play like we should tomorrow", said Nikolić.
