Partizan scored another victory against Mega
After triumphing with the result 98:86 (19:18, 31:22, 21:27, 27:19), the black and whites gained a significant advantage in respect to Mega Bemax in the fight for a spot in the regional championship playoffs.
An important victory for the black and whites! In the 17th round of the ABA Leagues, Partizan NIS' players defeated Mega Bemax, with the score 98:86, creating a significant advantage in respect to this opponent when it comes to the race for the regional championship playoffs. After tonight's game, the black and whites have 2 victories more than Mega, and a better head-to-head record, after victories in Sremska Mitrovica and Belgrade.
Partizan NIS' players started off the game better. Almost like in Monaco, the black and whites quickly gained an advantage of 8:0, but Mega managed to approach to a 1-point deficit by the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter, Partizan gained a double-digit advantage for the first time, and they went to the 15-minute break with the score 50:40.
In the third quarter, Mega managed to return to the game completely, but the black and whites threw the final punch in the last quarter, gaining an advantage of 14 points.
At the press conference after the game, Partizan NIS' coach, Andrea Trinchieri, said:
"I don't play games on PlayStation, my kids do. But in the end, it says 'mission accomplished'. The only goal was to do just that, and this is a very important win for us. We have a tough schedule, we are still fighting to go to the finish of the EuroCup. We are preparing for a very tough game against Rytas, and then we have two away games in a row. We keep moving", said the black and whites' coach.
