EuroCup Top 16 phase begins

The black and whites took an early morning flight to Vilnius, where they will play against Rytas in the first round of the 7DAYS EuroCup Top 16 phase, tomorrow, at 6 PM.

The black and whites are about to play their first game in 2019! At the same time, that is the beginning of the 7DAYS EuroCup Top 16 phase. With an early morning flight, Partizan NIS' expedition set off from Belgrade towards Vilnius, where the Steamroller will play against Rytas, tomorrow at 6 PM.

Before setting off, Partian NIS' coach, Andrea Trinchieri, said:

"We sprinted at the end of the first phase of the EuroCup to get into the Top 16. Now, Rytas, Fenerbahce, Real's all the same. Every game is a chance for us to be better and to try to do something. We are not the front runners or anything, we came at the very end, but we have to play. I still don't know the physiognomy of the group, it's a good group, Rytas entered as fourth, but they have amazing quality, they have just signed a EuroLeague center... We'll see. I expect a good game, a very hard game, but we enjoy that", said Trichieri.

Partizan NIS' center, Djordje Gagić, said before setting off:

"We finished the year with a very important win in the ABA League, just like we wanted. Now it would be good to start with another win. Simply put, we prepared for the game, we can't relax, there can't be any New Year euphoria, we are focused on the game. It won't be easy, they are a good team, a major club, they played the EuroLeague for a long time, but that is the kind of opponent we prepared for", said Gagić.
